Musique concrete is a type of experimental music that was created by mixing recorded sounds. The recorded sounds are generally from natural sounds in the physical world, ranging from musical instruments to voices to ambient noises of crowds in cafes. Compositions of this genre are not restricted to traditional notions of sound, rhythm, harmony, and metres.

In Rainforest, I developed work using this notion of musique concrete, to create a mysterious and eerie feeling. While some sound sources can be identified - such as the sound of the cricket- most of the sounds are acousmatic (the source of the sounds are not quite identifiable). The track was composed using Logic 9.
